Establishment of the world’s largest monopile production facility

All signs point to the future: On a former steel plant in Teesside, a new production site is under construction. What makes this project unique: The future production site in the northeast of England extends across a 90 hectare site and will be the first XXXL monopile factory for offshore wind turbines after its completion. Up to 150 monopiles will be produced here every year. For this project, our experts installed roughly 7,000 piles, including bored piles and CFA piles, up to a depth of around 35 m. That’s no easy task, and there were many challenges involved. All in all, this was a tough job – and in record time of just 14 months.
