Dike rehabilitation for Bildweiher Lake in Switzerland

Improving dike stability

The Bildweiher Lake in St. Gallen, a historic reservoir and now a nature reserve, required stabilization work on its dike. Our experts from BAUER Spezialtiefbau Schweiz AG executed a sealing for this project using the jet grouting technique (HPI). This encompassed 1,500 m² of cut-off wall (embankment seal) and 80 m of foundation columns. All this work involved drilling depths of up to 11 m. The local geology included demolition material, silt deposits, river gravel and moraine. This sensitive work was carried out during the seasonal closure on and in the bodies of water near a nature reserve.
