Foundation work for Buntu Kunik Airport Phase II
PT BAUER Pratama Indonesia was commissioned by Brantas Abipraya-Passokorang KSO as the main contractor to construct the bored pile foundation for the infrastructure of Buntu Kunik Airport. Buntu Kunik Airport, Tana Toraja, is located in the district of Mengkendek, in the regency of Tana Toraja and the province of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The bored piles with a diameter of 1000 mm were constructed for the foundation of culvert boxes on the airport grounds. One of the challenges during the drilling work was the very hard rock with an average RQD value of 90%. Due to the hilly terrain, mobilizing the equipment to the construction site was extremely difficult. Despite the challenges, the project was completed on time, safely, and within budget.
