Rehabilitation of Aramon Dike in France

Sustainable Mixed-in-Place methods

Along the Rhone River near the town of Aramon in Provence, a 570 m long dike was rehabilitated to stop internal erosion and improve dam stability. The experts from Bauer were brought in to handle the task. Using the Mixed-in-Place method, they installed an impermeable cut-off wall over an area of 12,500 m² with a thickness of 55 cm – up to a depth of 23 m. The geological conditions were a particular challenge, as the soil contained strata of sand, gravel and limestone. After the completion of the cut-off wall, the leaks in the dike base in the affected area were successfully removed.
