Excavation pit construction in the north of Munich

Big, bigger, biggest

In the Parkstadt Schwabing neighborhood in the north of Munich, our Bauer Spezialtiefbau team constructed an excavation pit for a new office building on a 13,000 m2 site. For the 9 m deep excavation pit, Bauer constructed a 6,000 m² single-anchored mixed-in-place cut-off wall (MIP) with a thickness of 550 mm and embedded double U king piles up to a depth of 17 m. A large-scale project, but no problem for our experts. And that’s far from all: 750 m² of sheet pile wall with a maximum depth of 16 m and 3,000 linear meters of anchors were also installed for dewatering. The use of depth drainage methods required high logistics expenditure and precise coordination with earthworks. As a result, the utmost caution and excellent planning were needed.

This was a project with large dimensions. But with our MIP method, we are able to vary the drilling depth as needed or adapt to the soil conditions.”
