Diaphragm wall shafts for Woodsmith Mine in England

The country’s largest mining project

The Woodsmith mine in North Yorkshire, the deepest potash and polyhalite mine in Great Britain, is one of the country’s largest mining projects. On this project, our experts from Bauer Spezialtiefbau installed diaphragm wall shafts for production, service and tunnel drilling equipment shafts (diameter 5 m) at a depth of up to 360 m. The material was transported using eco-friendly methods to harbor facilities in Teesside over a 37 km tunnel. Despite the complexity and ecological sensitivity of the project, we delivered innovative solutions that ensure minimal impact on the environment.
