Dam work for Jannah Dam in Lebanon
The Jannah Dam is not only an impressive arch-gravity dam, but also a vital reservoir with 38 million m³ of water to supply Byblos, Beirut and the surrounding area. Bauer Spezialtiefbau achieved amazing results here: With a total of 9,500 m² of clay concrete cut-off walls reaching up to a depth of 50 m, and parallel diaphragm walls that are connected together by an arch-shaped bulkhead, they ensure not only vertical underground sealing but also stability up to a depth of 36 m. In addition, injection curtains are installed along the dam foundation and inserted in the abutments to minimize seepage water, while special rails with mobile platforms on steep slopes enable the valuable construction of the sealing curtain before the actual RCC dam construction.
