Dam rehabilitation on Hinze Dam in Australia
The Hinze Dam in Queensland, Australia was raised by 15 m in Phase 3, which doubled the water capacity and improved its flood protection. Due to unfavorable geological conditions, the experts from Bauer built a 220 m long cut-off wall with a depth of more than 50 m using clay concrete. With a nominal thickness of 0.8 m, the cut-off wall begins within the existing saddle dam and extends over the entire area of the dam. This measure corresponds to the current safety standards for dams and thereby increases the sustainability of the structure by effectively preventing leakage and internal erosion.
