Excavation pit construction for El-Orouba Tunnel
Bauer Egypt was commissioned to play a crucial role in the construction of the El-Orouba Tunnel, a significant infrastructure project aimed at easing traffic congestion on Salah Salem Road – one of Cairo’s most vital transportation routes. The tunnel, which was constructed using the cut-and-cover method, was designed to eliminate bottlenecks that were notorious for causing traffic jams along this major roadway. As part of the project, our experts executed extensive diaphragm wall works, constructing walls with a thickness of 800 mm and reaching depths of up to 18 m. A total of 28,600 m² of diaphragm walls were completed, ensuring the stability and durability of the tunnel structure. This project was a key contribution to improving the traffic flow in one of Cairo’s busiest areas.
