Excavation pit construction for Cairo Metro Line 3 Phase 3

Up to 96 m deep

In the third phase of Cairo Metro Line 3, spanning 17.7 km from El-Attaba to the Rod El-Farag corridor, Bauer Egypt was entrusted with essential foundation and groundwater control tasks. This phase features 15 stations, of which eight are underground. Our specialists undertook extensive work at seven stations: Naser, Maspiro, Al-Zamalek, Al-Kit Kat, El Tawfikya, and Gammeat El Dewal. The scope included constructing 285,000  m² of diaphragm walls with depths ranging from 55 to 96 m and thicknesses from 100 to 150 cm. Additionally, Bauer installed seven circular shafts up to 96 m deep, 136 barrettes, and treated 180,000  m³  of sand with a soft gel plug to ensure the stability of the excavation.
