Cut-off Walls for New Assiut Barrage

In Assiut, Bauer Egypt was contracted by the Egyptian French Joint Venture for the New Assiut Barrage project, commissioned by the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources. The project, running from 2012 to 2016, involved extensive foundation and cut-off wall works. Our scope included the supply and construction of single-phase cut-off walls (SPW) for the ring dam and permanent double-phase cut-off walls (DWP) underneath the new barrage. Furthermore, the project covered the construction of diaphragm walls for the barrage piers, permanent cut-off walls for the diversion canal and the installation of deep wells for dewatering throughout the construction process. The diaphragm walls, ranging in diameters from 800 mm to 1,000 mm with depths of up to 40 m have a total quantity of 24,260 m².
