Cut-off Wall for New Naga Hammadi Barrage
Bauer Egypt was commissioned for the construction of the new Naga Hammadi Barrage in Upper Egypt. The new barrage replaces a structure built in the early 1900s. The new barrage replaces of a structure built in the early 1900s. The new Naga Hammadi Barrage is of crucial importance to the development of the Nile Valley water supply infrastructure. Our expert’s work involved constructing a temporary diaphragm wall, extensive dewatering works and a permanent cut-off wall. It also included 93,000 m² of diaphragm walls, each 60 m deep and 1,000 mm thick, as well as 20,000 m² of 54-meter-deep cut-off walls of the same thickness. Additionally, our specialists were responsible for installing 50 dewatering wells to support the project.
